Dear friends of zen,
Here in India, we cannot do things the same way as Japanese. We are not exactly the zen priests and yet, not laymen. And, Unlike Americans, we have a good foundation of dhyana. So, we are on our way to discover an appropriate way of life for ourselves, our zen sangha, our group.
But we must also know what core zen practice is. I am interested in this. I have understood, that even if we have no experience of a liberation, it is enough if we sit taking the right posture, with the right attitude and understanding, and respect the physical labor, that is enough and that is zen. And that is subject to rigorous mental training. And we badly need frequent retreats.
And that is an uphill task after sixty.
